WeatherRouting
Do these steps once, in this order.
1. Install
- Double-click Install.
- The Mac says it cannot check the file. Click Done (or OK).
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security. Scroll down. Click Open Anyway next to "Install". Type your password.
- Click Open. A window says "WeatherRouting is installed". Close it.
If the Mac asks whether "Terminal" may access files in a folder (Downloads, Desktop or Documents), click Allow (or OK). Install needs it.
On an older Mac: right-click Install, choose Open, then Open again.
Install puts WeatherRouting in your own user folder: after that you can delete the unpacked folder and the zip.
2. Sign in
- Start WeatherRouting (step 3) and open Settings › Relay account.
- Type your mail address and press Send code.
- Type the code from the mail. Your account must exist first: ask for one on the download page.
The relay keeps a record of what you download (which models, how much and roughly where), so Steef can see how the app is used, and keeps the messages you send.
3. Start WeatherRouting
- Double-click Start WeatherRouting on your desktop.
- Your browser opens WeatherRouting.
- Keep the Terminal window with the text open. Close it to stop WeatherRouting.
First weather
Open the Areas tab, open an area and press Refresh. The first time this takes a few minutes.
A new version
- Close WeatherRouting (close its window).
- Unzip the new version, the same way as the first time.
- In the new folder, double-click Install, then Start WeatherRouting.
Your boats, routes, calculations and sign-in stay where they are: an update only replaces the app. Then you can delete the unpacked folder.
